Ilustrasi hourglass atau "Jam Pasir Multikulturalisme" dengan konsep ini menggambarkan evolusi manusia dan perubahan dalam budaya dan multikulturalisme seiring berjalannya waktu. Di bagian atas hourglass, menampilkan dua manusia dari zaman prasejarah, sedangkan di bagian bawahnya, saat pasir telah jatuh ke bawah, menampilkan beragam manusia dari berbagai budaya dan periode sejarah yang berbeda. Diharapkan ini akan memberikan gambaran visual yang kuat tentang bagaimana sejarah dan waktu telah membentuk dunia yang multikultural seperti yang kita kenal hari ini.

Dari sekian banyak dokumenter sejarah, mngkin hanya beberapa yang menekankan peranan mempelajari sejarah yang berkaitan dengan multikulturalisme. Dokumenter sejarah sering kali fokus pada kronologi peristiwa dan jatuh bangun peradaban tanpa memberikan penekanan yang cukup pada multikulturalisme dan interaksi budaya yang telah membentuk dunia seperti yang kita kenal saat ini.

"The Origins of Roman Religion Are MIND-BLOWING" merupakan salah satu film dokumenter yang mengungkapkan tentang hal ini.

Dalam dokumenter itu pada pesan terakhir diungkapkan tentang multikulturalisme yang  cukup menyentuh karena mungkin jarang terdengar di film dokumenter sejarah.

"Remember, history isn't just about facts and dates but about understanding how the past has influenced our present and the diverse cultures and beliefs that have come together to form the world we live in today."

Pernyataan itu sangat dalam dan memiliki makna yang penting. Sejarah memang lebih dari sekedar daftar fakta dan tanggal-tanggal, tetapi juga tentang bagaimana masa lalu memengaruhi kita saat ini, serta bagaimana berbagai budaya dan keyakinan telah berkumpul dan membentuk dunia tempat kita hidup sekarang.

Memahami bahwa sejarah adalah tentang lebih dari sekedar kronologi peristiwa, tetapi juga tentang perasaan, nilai-nilai, dan pengalaman manusia, membantu kita menjadi lebih bijak dalam memahami dunia dan orang-orang di sekitar kita. Hal ini juga membuka pintu untuk lebih menghargai keragaman budaya dan keyakinan yang ada di dunia ini.

Dokumenter yang menekankan pesan seperti ini dapat menjadi sumber inspirasi yang kuat dan mengingatkan kita bahwa kita semua bagian dari narasi sejarah yang lebih besar. Semoga pesan ini terus tersebar luas melalui berbagai jenis media, termasuk film dokumenter sejarah.

A story of a horse named Dark Star

Dark Star was a very old project. Probably between 5th and 6th Grade primary school. It was a story of a stallion named Dark Star. His name came from the Kentucky Derby horse name list.

He had an owner named Mike I think drawn by my friend/teammate, Lydia (Kisnari)

He had dark brown coat with a white star on his forehead. Gloria was his partner and Dark Star had many friends.

I did a lot of comics with friends from elementary school to high school. I also made comic with Alya (Dwiana). Later with Junita (Christie Siregar), Pidia and Yayang (Harley). It's hard to find old artworks since I moved house and went to the different island. And also there was no digital camera and scanner back then.

Laundry Cat: Keeping Clothes Clean and Bright

On a bright sunny morning, with skies so blue,

Laundry Cat readied herself, with a task to pursue.

In a pink dress and ribbon, looking oh so neat,

She set out to dry clothes, in the warm sun's heat.

She walked through the yard, 'midst clothes hanging high,

Making sure they were clean, and dry as the sky.

With care she hung them, on lines taut and strong,

Drying each piece of clothing, as she hummed a song.

She leaped and she twirled, with grace in her stride,

Ensuring each garment was clean and dried.

No task was too big, no task was too small,

For Laundry Cat, she enjoyed it all.

When her work was done, and the clothes were gleaming bright,

Laundry Cat sat back, feeling pure delight.

With a satisfied smile, at the sight of her chore,

The story of Laundry Cat comes to close once more.

So if you ever see, a cat in pink attire,

Remember she's Laundry Cat, her spirit never tires.

She keeps our clothes clean, and fresh as can be,

So we can look our best, wherever we may be.

The Gift of Growth: A Story of Charity

In the quiet corner of the forest, a small sapling sprouted from the earth. Its leaves were tender, bright green, and reaching for the light that poured from the heavens. Above it, birds soared through the dappled sunlight filtering between the trees, their wings fluttering like the pages of an unwritten story.

As the days passed, the sapling grew stronger, its roots digging deep into the nourishing soil, connecting it to the life around it. Each passing breeze whispered stories of those who had come before—caretakers of the earth who understood that planting a tree was not just an act of creation, but an act of selflessness, a gift for all.

A wise elder, whose heart was filled with reverence for the earth, knelt beside the sapling. They spoke softly to the young tree, knowing that within its tender bark lay the potential to provide shelter for the birds, shade for weary travelers, and nourishment for creatures of the land. This act of planting was more than just tending to the earth—it was an act of charity, one that would ripple through time, benefiting lives they might never witness.

The elder remembered the words of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, echoing through the chambers of their mind: "If anyone who submits to the will of God plants a tree or sows seeds, and then a bird, or a person or an animal eats from it, it is regarded as a charitable gift for that person."

In that moment, the elder felt at peace, knowing that their simple act of planting a tree had the power to reach beyond the here and now. The tree would serve without asking for anything in return. It would offer shade to those in need of rest, fruit to those who hungered, and branches for birds to nest in. Each small act of kindness woven into the tree’s very existence would multiply, blessing the earth and its inhabitants for generations.

As the elder rose, they looked up toward the sky, where two birds danced between the rays of sunlight, already taking refuge in the growing branches. The sight filled the elder’s heart with joy, for the tree was fulfilling its purpose. It had become a living testament to the beauty of giving—a silent but steadfast symbol of charity.

Though the elder’s hands would one day return to the soil, the tree would remain, standing tall as a testament to the simple yet profound truth: every act of planting, of nurturing life, is a gift that endures. For to plant a tree is not merely to give to the earth, but to give to all who walk upon it, fly above it, or dwell within its embrace.

And so, in that quiet corner of the forest, the sapling grew into a great tree, its branches stretching wide, offering refuge and sustenance. And though the elder had long since passed, their charity lived on, flourishing with every leaf and every life touched by the tree’s generous spirit.

Planting a tree is an act of charity

Fabel dari Jawa Tengah di relief candi Mendut

Dalam komplek Candi Borobudur di Jawa Tengah terdapat sejumlah candi di antaranya adalah Candi Mendut. Di candi ini terdapat sebuah relief yang menggambarkan seekor burung berkepala dua dan kepala bagian atas tengah memakan buah yang ranum, sementara kepala bawah terlihat lunglai.

Relief ini diangkat dari fabel (ceita dunia binatang) yang menggambarkan pesan tentang kesenjangan dan ketidak-pedulian kelompok "atas" terhadap kelompok "bawah." Meskipun tentang binatang, kisah yang disampaikan dalam fabel tersebut adalah tentang manusia dan pesannya ditujukan pada manusia.

Dikisahkan demikian. Seekor burung dengan badan satu, sayap sepasang, kaki sepasang dan memiliki kepala dua. Kepala yang atas, karena posisinya, setiap hari bisa memakan buah-buah yang segar, ranum dan lezat. Dan kepala yang bawah hanya memakan sisa-sisa yang terjatuh dari paruh kepala atas, itupun kalau ada. Kalau tidak, dia akan memakan apa yang ditemukan.

Kepala bawah mengajukan usul agar dia juga berkesempatan untuk mendapatkan makanan yang baik, dan meminta kepala atas untuk berbagi. Protes yang diajukan oleh kepala bawah tidak dihiraukan, dan kepala atas terus bersenang-senang dengan makanannya.

“Tidak perlu kamu protes. Bukankah buah yang aku makan juga masuk dalam perut yang sama?” kata kepala atas.

Kepala bawah yang putus asa lalu memakan apa saja yang ditemuinya. Sampai suatu kali dia memakan jamur beracun, maka matilah dia, matilah burung itu, matilah dua kepala itu.

Kisah ini menggambarkan kehidupan sosial manusia yang diwarnai kesenjangan dan sikap yang enggan berbagi, padahal hidup dalam "satu tubuh" sosial. Pesan yang disampaikan adalah jika “kepala atas” mengabaikan “kepala bawah”, maka secara sosial kita akan menjadi burung berkepala dua yang mati bersama-sama.
